C.H.O.I.C.E. Inc. was founded in 1987 as a comprehensive, community-based, non-profit organization that provides alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention and early intervention programs to youth and adolescents in Jefferson County Public Schools.
C.H.O.I.C.E. Inc.: is dedicated to providing educational services that will allow youths and adolescents to reach their maximum potential by learning to choose a positive healthy lifestyle.
C.H.O.I.C.E. services provide avenues which empower “high-risk”/”at-risk” youth and adolescents, ages 9 to 19, to make positive, healthy, lifestyle choices.
C.H.O.I.C.E. Inc., curriculum focuses on valuing self, decision making, goal setting, communication and living a healthy lifestyle.
C.H.O.I.C.E.’s goal is to improve the young person’s health and well-being, increase their sense of self regard, and decrease the incidents of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse, violence and other unhealthy behaviors. This is accomplished through a two tiered effort comprised of prevention education and bolstering resiliency factors within the young person.
